YOUR TREASURE ~ GOOD WORKS

One of the first things we should know about good works is that “LOVE” leads to good works. Without love, our life is void. Hate comes from a lack of love in one’s heart. The way we treat others will lead others, when we remember that it will help us understand how to treat our children. If you show them love and understanding they will usually become loving and understanding people. What you put into your family is what will come out of them.

Romans 12:9-13 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.

Galatians 6:9-10 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

The way you live day to day shows who you are. Do you walk in the light, or do you allow darkness to lead you?

Matthew 5:16 ESV In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

We are storing treasures in heaven by how we live in this life. Nothing man-made on this earth will go with us to heaven. We came into this world naked, and we will go out of it naked.

Job 1:21 He said, “I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!”

Ecclesiastes 5:15 We all come to the end of our lives as naked and empty-handed as on the day we were born. We can’t take our riches with us.

1 Timothy 6:7 After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it.

God tells us plainly not to look at the things of the world as our guide, but to look to the Bible, the WORD OF GOD, for all truth. We have choices to make in our life; seek truth to know what the best choice is in each decision we make. Everything we do is recorded in heaven! Do you realize this?

Matthew 6:19-21 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Paul told the Corinthians that they should look to God, not the disciples, for their truth. We now have the Bible to do just that.

1 Corinthians 4:5-7 You see, we don’t go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. Jesus set the example for us.

Titus also tells us that our good works are part of our walk with God. We are to be like Jesus and help people, not hurt them. This is needed in our world today more than ever. People are telling others to stop hating, while they hate. Everyone needs to STOP HATE, replace it with kindness, understanding, and love!

Titus 2:11-14  For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.

God even went so far as to tell us to be good to our enemies. He does not want His people to be like the devil’s people. Our love will help heal the hate the devil puts on people. Evil comes from the devil; God gives love. If you face this truth, it will help you see the difference in who is speaking.

Luke 6:35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.

We are given wisdom throughout the Bible on what will happen to God’s people versus what will happen to the devil’s people. We will all face God one day, and when we do, there will be no hiding the truth of who we are. You will face it, and if we have not accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior the outcome will not be good. There are only two kinds of people in the world, God’s people or the devil’s people.

Revelation 1:1-2 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who faithfully reported everything he saw. This is his report of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 22:12-13 “Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

What have you put in your treasure chest in heaven? Romans 10:9-10

THE MESSAGE OF SALVATION IS FOR ALL

Romans 10:9-10 ESV because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

I pray everyone who reads this will seek to know God in the deep and wonderful way of Salvation, all who will accept Jesus as their Savior will receive Salvation and your name will be in the BOOK OF LIFE. Remember that accepting Jesus as Savior means repentance and change in your life!
