WELCOME TO COFFEE WITH GOD

By Pastor Jerri

THE DISCIPLE JOHN

1 John tells the story of God's love for His people. He goes into detail about how we, His people are to share God's love with others. That is how we are recognized as followers of Jesus.

John goes on to explain that the world's people do not recognize the love of God. John was the closest to Jesus, John loved Jesus and was not ashamed to show it.

1 John 2:4-6 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

John tells us that by loving one another, this shows to the world that we belong to Christ. That is our witness, the love we show to others. John goes on to say that it is by this love that people recognize Jesus in us. It seems that many have forgotten the very importance of loving one another.

I recommend everyone that reads this post, reads the entire chapter of 1 John. It is a short chapter, but a very important one. Those of us who follow Jesus must be set apart from the world. This isn't an option; this is a command that Jesus made. The disciple John followed Jesus words, and one of the things that set him apart from the others was that he loved Jesus so much. May each one of us do the same.

THE MESSAGE OF SALVATION IS FOR ALL

Romans 10:9-10 ESV because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

I pray everyone who reads this will seek to know God in the deep and wonderful way of Salvation, all who will accept Jesus as their Savior will receive Salvation and your name will be in the BOOK OF LIFE. Remember that accepting Jesus as Savior means repentance and change in your life!
