WELCOME TO COFFEE WITH GOD

SORROW FOR THE LOSS OF A LOVED ONE

This is a hard subject as grief comes in many forms. Many times, grief comes with regret. I hope to reach out to those who are suffering with the loss of a loved one for whatever reason they have left this world. First thing I want to say is that no one dies before their time. God has made that very clear in the Bible (Ecclesiastes 3:1-2) . God told us that “sin” against God is the reason people die (Genesis 2:17). It is the wages of sin that brings death (Romans 6:23). Romans 5:12-21 explains that universal death is passed on to all people because all have sinned. It goes on to explain in detail how to be saved through Jesus’ death.

One of the topics I hope to help those who are suffering with feeling regret for not doing something before the person died. When you realize that no one dies before God is ready for them to go home to Him, no matter what you did or didn’t do, it was God’s time. Each one of us has an allotted time on this earth. Only God knows when that time is. No one needs to feel guilty for not being someplace at a certain time, for they maybe could have done something. For God is aware of where you would be when the person you love died. I know this can be confusing, but when you truly put your trust in God, you can know He will let you know if you need to be someplace.

Psalm 90:10 The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away.

Psalm 116:15 “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.”

Psalm 139:16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

We make all kinds of plans; some work and some don’t. That is because God also has planned something, sometimes if we get off track God must put us back on track. Our well planned out things don’t happen for one reason or another. God still has control and will bring us to where we are supposed to be.

Proverbs 16:9 The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.

I am speaking about Christians, those who have given their lives to Christ, for those of us who serve the Lord Jesus, belong to God and God takes our lives very seriously. When we die, we go to be with God. Every Christian that dies at the moment of their death they are “raptured” to heaven to be with God forever. This is why Paul said as he lives, he will serve Christ and if he dies, he goes to be with the Lord.

Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

2 Corinthians 5:8 Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

Romans 14:8 “For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.”

When a person who has not accepted Jesus as Savior dies, they go to hell, a holding place of torment until the final judgement, when they will be judged for their sins. Christians however will go to be with God when they die. If we are still alive when the Rapture happens, we will see the bodies of the Christians that have died before us going up before we are taken up to meet Jesus in the air.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

This is why I teach so much about giving your life to Jesus, get saved so you will go to heaven when you die. God does not want anyone to go to hell. He has made away to be saved through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross who died in our place so we can live in heaven with God.

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.

THE MESSAGE OF SALVATION IS FOR ALL

Romans 10:9-10 ESV because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

I pray everyone who reads this will seek to know God in the deep and wonderful way of Salvation, all who will accept Jesus as their Savior will receive Salvation and your name will be in the BOOK OF LIFE. Remember that accepting Jesus as Savior means repentance and change in your life!
