LIES OF THE DEVIL
If we are not aware of our enemy, we cannot fight the good fight! Knowing what is coming against us is key to winning the battle. Jesus warned us to know who we are fighting. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
Over and over God tells us not to be deceived! If God gives us a warning, we need to look into it and listen. In order to not be deceived we need to know the TRUTH! John 8:44 and Matthew 24:12 were words from Jesus Himself! Know your enemy! John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. and Matthew 24:12 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.
We are seeing the truth of the Bible in our world today clearly. Do not be deceived! Know who you are fighting! 2 Timothy says it very well. 2 Timothy 3:12-17 Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
James tells us what to do to fight the enemy: James 4:7-8 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Then Jesus speaks again in Matthew 13:39 The enemy who planted the weeds among the wheat is the devil. The harvest is the end of the world, and the harvesters are the angels. He tells us who the enemy is and what he is doing. Also, Peter tells us to think clearly and to watch what we hear, see and do! For the enemy prowls around looking for who he can deceive. 1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.
Then Jesus speaks again saying we have authority over the enemy, we must use this to fight. Jesus gives us power in His Name … In the Name of Jesus, we stand against evil! Luke 10:19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.
Paul joins in on this wisdom of knowing who we are in Christ Jesus and how to fight the enemy. In Romans 5:9-11 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. And he goes on in Romans 8:37-39 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Paul also said in Colossians 2:15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.
Jesus then says in Matthew, see what will defile you, try to understand it isn’t what you eat the defiles you; it is what you have in your heart. Do not follow those who are evil but follow Jesus and what is good. Do not be deceived by rules that do not help you but follow the love that God has given you. Keep your mind clear of evil thoughts. When you have an evil thought cast it down in the Name of Jesus, for it is our Lord and Savior we want to follow and obey. Matthew 15:10-20
In conclusion, realize Jesus won the war for us, we need only to follow and obey Jesus. I have given you a few scriptures about how to fight the enemy and who the enemy is. The Bible is full of words of encouragement for us to stand on. Study the Bible and learn how to fight to win in this life. You must know who you are fighting to win! It is not our neighbor, our friends or our family, it is the devil!
Revelation 12:9-12 And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!”
Realize that those who choose to follow the devil will not listen to Jesus, they are enemies of Jesus. They are the one Jesus said were blinded by the devil. Stand with Jesus and do what is right no matter what the evil ones are doing. DO NOT JOIN THEM! Pray for them. That is all Jesus told us to do. Follow Jesus and pray for those who do not obey Him. Amen!
THE MESSAGE OF SALVATION IS FOR ALL
Romans 10:9-10 ESV because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
I pray everyone who reads this will seek to know God in the deep and wonderful way of Salvation, all who will accept Jesus as their Savior will receive Salvation and your name will be in the BOOK OF LIFE. Remember that accepting Jesus as Savior means repentance and change in your life!
MARANATHA, AMEN
