WELCOME TO COFFEE WITH GOD

🏆HAPPY FATHERS DAY🏆

The Bible has a lot to say about fathers. If only fathers knew how very important they are to the family. Many men do not realize how much their lives impact their children! They also do not realize how their roll as father impacts their relationship to God! Look what God has to say to you dads out there in the very beginning of the Bible…

Genesis 18:19 I have singled him out so that he will direct his sons and their families to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. Then I will do for Abraham all that I have promised.

Men also fail sometimes to realize how important their relationship to their own fathers are to their lives. Honoring our parents is the only commandment with promise, a promise to long life if you honor your parents.

Exodus 20:12 Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

Teaching your children about God is also very important to God! It is the father’s job to teach their children about God. Many men do not realize what an impact teaching your children about God is. Teaching your children about God at an early age is so important, it is life changing for your children and sometimes lifesaving!

Deuteronomy 6:6-9 And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

God is our heavenly Father; He is there ready to help when He is called on. Prayer is a mighty tool for raising our children.

Psalm 103:13 The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.

The Book of Proverbs is a book full of wisdom written by Solomon who God called the wises man on earth. This Book has a lot to say about how a father can make or break a child.

Proverbs 3:11-12 My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the Lord loves he corrects; even as a father the son in whom he delights.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 17:6 Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.

The Lords Prayer begins with “Our Father who art in heaven”. He is our Father who created us and created the world we live in. One of the most touching stories in the Bible is the story of the prodigal son! How God loves us and is always open to accepting us when we come to Him with a true heart to serve Him.

Luke 15:20 So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.

God warns fathers not to provoke your children in a way that hurts their spirit, but to correct them with love. A child needs correction; however, the correction should be to help them know what they need to do to please us, not in anger with no understanding of why. Always talk to your children and help them understand what you are correcting them for. Kids must understand what is expected of them, if they do not understand they cannot know how to fix it.

Colossians 3:21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

God tells us that correction is a good thing when done right. God corrects us all, but He gave us a Book of Instructions, OUR BIBLE! Fathers make sure you are teaching your children how to do right by God. Give them a Bible at a young age and teach them to read it. It is through God’s Holy Word we truly learn right from wrong!

Hebrews 12:7 It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?

Fathers, please realize how very important your love and your actions are to your children. They look up to you for their direction. They learn watching you! Give them good direction as God has given you. You’re so very important to your children! Both sons and daughters. Be the best example of a Godly man as you can for your children’s sake. If you feel you have failed in anyway raising your children, remember today is a new day! You can fix it! Start today guiding your children in the way of the Lord.
