WELCOME TO COFFEE WITH GOD

DEAD PEOPLE ARE NOT DEAD
There is a difference between physical death and spiritual death. Physical death is when the body dies, when the body dies, your soul and spirit leave the body, they go to be with Jesus or if not saved go to the eternal separation from God. Spiritual death is the eternal separation from God.
In Psalm 118 King David is talking about how God protects him, how he has had to battle for his faith in God. Verse 17 David declares why God is protecting him, because he is declaring God’s glory and he stands up for God! This is important to understand, when we fight for God, God protects us. We become strong in the Lord even when we are weak. Joel 3:10 says let the weak say, “I AM STRONG”.
Psalm 118:17 I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the Lord.
Jesus' told Martha in John 11, He tells her concerning her brother Lazarus, that His power over death and His role as the source of eternal life for believers and He ask her if she believes Him. Our walk with God is based on our belief that God is who He says He is and Jesus is His Son sent to save the world!
John 11:26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
The story of Lazarus is in John 11, Jesus made it clear what He intended to do because of Lazarus death and why to His disciples. Death is nothing to fear when we have accepted Jesus as our Savior. We do not truly die, but our soul and spirit go to be with Jesus at the moment of our death. Paul explained this in Philippians:
Philippians 1:21-23 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.
When we are saved by the crucifixion of Christ, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit and we will never die, we will just be changed from physical life to spiritual life, which is eternal.
John 8:51 Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.
Jesus told John He was the bread of life:
John 6:47-51 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”
We know that one day we will be free from all the awful things this world has done to us. All the sorrow will be wiped away by God, because we accepted Jesus as our Savior and Jesus paid for our Salvation with His blood shed on the cross. PTL:
Revelation 21:4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
In the Book of Luke chapter 20 Jesus explained this when the Sadducees tried to trick Jesus as to the fact that men marry the same women, who is she married to in heaven. Jesus explained we are not married in heaven, when we die, we will be like the angels. We will not truly die; we just change from flesh to spirit bodies.
Luke 20:35-38 But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. But even Moses showed in the burning bush passage that the dead are raised, when he called the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ For He is not the God of the dead but of the living, for all live to Him.”
Now these scriptures tell us truly we will never die, this life will be over, a new life will begin. The Gospel is the story of how you can live forever with Jesus … or forever separated from God. Tormented forever because we never die!
Matthew 25:44-46 “Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
Revelation explains it even clearer, please read your Bible and take Jesus as your Savior! Do not die from this life without Jesus as your Savior. Eternity away from God is not a good place!
Revelation 20:11-15 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
May you start this NEW YEAR with plans to know God and Jesus, if you will seek to know Him your life will change forever!
